My Camping Season is Over...

I'm bummed. I put off spinal surgery too long...now I'm at the point were I must have it done immediately, instead of scheduling it when it's more convenient. I am told that my recovery will take 3-5 months, so sadly I have covered my baby up for what may be the rest of the year. I should've pulled the trigger on surgery last winter...I could kick myself!

Need to fix your health before you can go RVing. Sorry the timing sucks, but the MH will be there when you are ready.

Good Luck with your surgery, I know how you feel. Last year I needed shoulder surgery and kept putting it off until I had to have it. It's nothing like spinal surgery I'm sure, but I ended up having two surgeries and couldn't drive the MH for most of the year, took about 9 months before I could even think of driving it. At least you have your baby all covered up and protected, one less thing to worry about. We'll keep you in our prayers for a speedy recovery. Good Luck

Speedy recovery... but do take it easy while you recover... most folks are hard put to stay put..... ( if it really gets bad for you... camp out in your driveway!)

That back surgery is no fun! Annette is recovering from a lower back operation now, which is going to take about 3 months! She has had 8 back and neck surgeries in the last few years! We hope this one will hold her for a while!

Good luck and God bless!

Ohms for Annette from Denise and I.

Hopefully his surgery will go well and he'll be up and at'em in about 8 weeks like I was when the fused my lower back. Recovery is strange in that if you do what you are supposed to and get proper post surgery care, wonders happen.

PT is as good as you make it.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and prayers. It's true that I get frustrated when I'm told to stay put. The doctor warned me that not heeding his post-op advice will result in a longer recovery, so I will do my best to be a good patient. The DW told the doctor she will keep me on a tight leash...thank God for strong willed women, LOL!

Best of luck with the surgery, and get back out as soon as the doc says OK.

We may be in about the same "boat". Wife has HCC (liver cancer) and is on the transplant waiting list. Right now she's low on the list so we could get away, but she doesn't feel like. Near the end of June she'll get pushed up much further on the list. At that point we have to be within an hour or so of the transplant hospital. July 4th will probably be our first and last trip this year.

Sorry to hear about the surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery. You will still have memories, and time to start planning the next trip.

Prayers to your wife Mr D. Much more serious than my back issues!
