When refueling, I do shut off the engine. If I'm running the A/C off the generator running down the road, I'll leave it on and the A/C cooling while we refuel. Fat boys don't like to sweat.

Even though we have a Gasser at the moment, we always use the truck lanes for easy in and out. We will leave genny running and best thing is the movable ladder to wash the darn windshield, Not like you can drag one of them everywhere you go. Have a Great time and don't worry bout a thing, just enjoy your trip!

Before you allow your diesel to idle for extended periods of time and how it can destroy an engine, google for the term "diesel wet stacking"

Many truckers do not own their tractors, they could care less and want maximum comfort -- heat or cool, when in their sleepers.
