NASCAR event this weekend

Big rigs in the Sam's Club parking lot, down the road from New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Lust!

NASCAR event this weekend

When I came back outside, one of the drivers was topping-off the coolant on the black coach. They are all rentals, at $7-10K for the weekend.

These must be vendor's rigs. Most if not all NASCAR tracks will not allow you to haul an enclosed trailer into the camping areas.

After reading your 2nd post, that is what I was thinking. They offer these coach rentals for most NASCAR weekends. They do get some premium spots and with some packages offer pit box seating!

For now - or at least until I hit Powerball or MegaMillions - we'll stick with our Trackside RV Parking at Pocono Raceway. We waited 6 years to get our "own" spot - vs buying someone else's spot on eBay and we feel these are the best seats in NASCAR. We've been to a lot of tracks, and except for *maybe* Kentucky infield, you can't get any closer to the action.

If you do go to Pocono in June or July, come down and visit us in the Trackside RV lot spots 57 & 58. We're easy to find with the 3Labs - our Yellow and Chocolate, and our daughters black lab - we bring the Labrador Trilogy with us!

We're already prepping for the July race - we leave for Pocono 2 weeks from today!

This past June we had a 5 site "compound" setup with our neighbors on both sides. My friend with the TT flies about 24 flags on race weekend. It was his first time joining us at Pocono.

Enjoying the race from the roof of our '05 SeaBreeze with my daughter

Our neighbor built a pretty slick roof deck on the top of the short bus he converted to a camper

The nose of our RV is only about 20' from the track

We're so close to the action, we can see the drivers in their cars. I love the pace laps and green flags - all that horsepower is amazing to see, hear and feel.

Last years race got red flagged due to an accident, they stopped all the cars right in front of us for about 15 minutes. We had drivers waving to us while they were parked

2Labs,
Nice pictures.
We go to Watkins Glen every year and have for 20 years now. We have an absolute ball there. Our camp site is only 100 yards from the "Berm" on turn 11.

Hi Lynn,

That is great. We thought about doing the Pocono -> Watkins Glen double this year, but I could not get any trackside RV parking. I did put us on a waiting list, so we'll see what we can get.

We haven't attended a road course event yet, but we really do want to get to Watkins Glen, as it's another track that is only a few hours drive time from our home in CT - and has GREAT racing!

We've gone to the New Hampshire race weekends a lot, but man does it get unbearably hot in the stands. So hot many races, that we leave before the end of the race - and that's no fun.

While we have had a reserved RV spot on "The Ledge" in New Hampshire, the location we really want is on "The Hill" that overlooks the back stretch. This was we have the comfort of the RV right there. This is another track that we're on a waiting list for.

Have fun at Watkins Glen -- I'll be looking for you during the race
