Thanks to the OP for bringing this to our attention. And also to cnkinthebus for adding the voice of humanity ... one who actually cares about the victim.

I don't think that is the "reality for today's world".
It is a sad event for that victim. I hope she fully recovers and the perp is convicted and locked up.

This is indeed a sad story and our hearts go out to the victim, but please let's refrain from political comment which is not allowed by the rules of iRV2. Several posts have been deleted or edited. Thanks for understanding folks.

Regrettably that is today's world. I hope she makes a full recovery.

Also sad is in 2003, Kris Eggle,a National Park employee was killed in Organ Pipe National Monument by drug smugglers or illegal aliens. Who was Kris Eggle? - Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (U.S. National Park Service)

Very sad to hear about the attack! Glad the DNA let them identify the attacker. VERY glad she didn't end up on this 100+ year list:
Keeping Track So They're Never Forgotten: National Park Service Workers Who Died on The Job
Probably a good thing we can do to show support is the next time we're in a national park, thank the employees we run into for the jobs they do!

Just Unbelievable. What gives with people these days. Sick Minds, I'm glad she survived.

We had one up here in Washington state several years ago and it is never good to see these things happen to folks that are trying to make the parks a better and safer place to be. It is a sad day when the folks that take care of our lands,be them state parks, national parks or BLM,have to carry weapons.
A good way to support these folks is to join your local state park associations or www.npca.org and/or become involved as volunteers.
