Hi, I figured there must be one here. I make personalized items and I'm making something for a ham operator. I can't tell from his writing, if something is a number 1, an I, or an l (l). For instance if you saw call letters (I'm changing them a bit to protect the ID):
KF6AlD ..is there a particular way these would be..so many letters, then a number, then a letter etc? I can't tell what the second to the last letter is, in handwritting. If he had emailed it I could change the font, but this way, I just can't. He doesn't seem to check his email, and I wanted to get it in the mail tomorrow. Thank you.

K6AID....There is only one number in a ham callsign designating the area of the country the license was issued. We are N7SLD & KC7SAU.
Hope this helps...

that narrows it down to an I or an L. If I sent you a Private message with the call letters as I see it, and the city and state, would you be able to tell if the second from the end was an I or L? Or don't those letters mean anything?

You can go to the ARRLwebsite and search for owners of call signs.
I'll send you a PM with the two choices. K6AID or K^ALD are not valid. It has to be KF6 for a recent license on the west coast.

Hey Robert and Kiki,
I hope Doris asked her ham to fill-in the
blanks. he he.
Good to see a 7 call in use. Planning a little visit out 7-land way and found
only club calls in Nevada State.
