Never travel without duct tape. And never travel without Gorilla brand duct tape. That's the most incredible stuff I've ever seen. It would take hardly any to hold an airplane together.

I'll have to try the Gorilla brand. The best I've ever seen is the "Duck" brand, but it's hard to find!

Or as the Military used to advise us, If it doesn't move, Paint it! If it does move, Salute it!

I keep duct tape, extra fuses, Teflon tape, zip ties, Velcro ties and my Dewalt cordless drill in our RV. I figure I can temporarily fix anything with these items in my possession so we can get home. I also take along every manual that we got with our RV and have apps for everything! I've downloaded videos on our slides, instruction manuals on any components we may have and keep an extra electronic version of the owners manual for our Jeep on my IPad. I carry a portable wifi hotspot and monitor weather and traffic if available.
My DH thinks I'm a little crazy and obsessed but I take my co-pilot role very seriously! LOL (Now I MUST try the gorilla tape!!)
If all else fails (and I can't find a solution on the RV forums), I call Good Sam Roadside Assistance (or Progressive Roadside or Coach-Net as we somehow have all three).

I'd buy a ticket to see the inside of that Eldorado MH. I wonder if it would pass Texas state inspection?

Unfortunately, securing the awning supports won't stop the awning fabric from unfurling! That just gives you a false sense of security! You might want to research "awning locks". There's been a lot of discussion on here about that subject.
