New and Improved..............

Have you ever been using a product for years and years and thought that it was the greatest, be it salad dressing, car wax, shampoo or what ever, then the next time you buy some it says on the package "New and Improved". It kind of gets you wondering what was wrong with the product the way it was and why did they have to improve it. I thought it was great. Have I been using an inferior product all these years?

Sure .. if you consider that new Twinkies are smaller than the old ones, and have a shelf life that's nearly twice the shelf life of the old ones

The other thing I notice is usually when a package has a bonus extra its usually because when it comes back to regular size it shrinks is. 10 oz original, 12 oz bonus pack, 8 oz new regular size

Yes, like Dial soap that I use. Reshaped the bar to fit your hand better by removing enough soap from one side to make it concave and shaving the other side to round the edges. Now I get a lot less soap but nothing else changed ( price ).

This happens way too often. In addition to "new and improved" the product one knows and loves all of a sudden goes away! Company "A" buys company "B" and abolishes the products company "B" made.

The only improvement today is for retailers not consumers today and it shows when they cash out at closing every night...........

That's one marketing scheme...the other one is "But wait..theres more....phone now and well add a second widget for free....you just pay separate shipping and handling"....I love those commericals.....think it works?

Remember utility companies do it as well. Our hydroelectricity company now uses time of use billing to help save us money and lessen the impact of modern life on the planet by saving you money for wise energy use.

They offer a night discount period, and two day rates for peak and normal rates, and to make it even easier these periods flop around depending on season. The discounted night rate is very similar but raised compared to the old anytime rates set by the old provincial government who lowered rates from the administration before them, to help families and small business. Now small business just needs to convince workers and customers night is better for business... Guess it helps the bar and club scene ?!?

Oh and to make it simpler holidays and weekends fall under a different schedule as well. I kid you not.
