This has been law in Illinois for a while now. I have yet to hear of anyone getting an actual ticket. Yet another unenforceable mandate.

Just drove through Indiana (in truck not RV), wish the law was already being enforced, ugh way too many people loitering in the left lane.

Disagree with previous poster that OH is the worst, My vote for worst is a tie between PA and MI. Pretty sure left lane loitering was invented in PA and perfected in MI.

Semis that attempt to pass each other with a speed difference of less than 1 mph re a a huge issue, not too many cars for the number roads, too many semis. We should push for more rail transport.

As a resident of Pa. I beg to differ. The worst I've come across live and drive in Florida.
The best I've seen are in S. Texas where they even get on the shoulder so you can pass them.

Florida almost has the same law. Can be ticketed ($143) in Left lane even if driving the speed limit but impeding an overtaking vehicle. "Except on multi-lane highways where passing on the right is permitted"

Was a problem on I-10, for years the right lane was really rough with uneven slabs, big hobby-horse and rattle effect. Many, me included would run left lane when traffic was light to save the dishes, and move right as traffic approached. Always concerned about a ticket then. I-10 has been improved over the past few years...

You may be surprised how many people that have never been taught that slower traffic should move to the right. Then again some know and just don't care. You would think they would get a clue based on how people are trying to get around them. Many with their feelings expressed with a finger or worse after they finally get by. But that would mean common sense is actually common..

I think there are a class of folks out there who believe it there duty as a citizen to enforce speed limits by driving slower in the left lane. British Columbia has also passed the "left lane law". In Quebec my wife, who lived there for a few years, tells me its illegal for trucks to occupy the left lane. Which makes sense.

The problem with making more laws and regulations is that you create a nanny state where citizens get a rule for everything and they don't have to think for themselves.

Saw this practice many years ago in Western Canada. A great custom, but you need to be alert for bridges on two lane roads; sometimes, the shoulder doesn't continue across the bridge!
