We are in Albuquerque and the AZ fire is covering us with smoke and ash. It depends on the wind but it has been really been bad at times. Started on Thursday causing me to call dispatch. They advised it was from the AZ fire. Be aware it has been so severe the air quality measuring devices cannot gauge it. Delay or re-route your trip in this direction. The AZ fire is not controlled!

Thanks for the first hand heads-up. We were wondering how bad conditions were in neighboring New Mexico. We are tentatively heading that way (Santa Fe) in several weeks, and we will definitely keep our eye on the situation. We are working on Plan B just in case.

The latest word is the fire is heading for power lines that if damaged, will cause power shortages and rolling blackouts for large areas. Here's hoping the wind dies down so they can start to gain some control soon.

We're north of Albuquerque near Taos and can confirm the smoke is spreading here too. Yesterday we got quite a bit of smoke haze from the AZ fire. Today is clear, but it all depends on the winds. Hoping they get the fire contained soon....it's a frightening blaze.

Just another update today. We got the ash clouds back here NE of Taos. It was perfectly clear all day yesterday, but definitely seeing smoke again today. Really just depends on the winds...

Albuquerque has been relatively clear today but they are projecting tomorrow will be worse. We really need some rain!
