The CEO of Starbucks was just on Dateline. Boy do you Americans have to side with this guy and quit donating to any politicians until they solve the debt and jobs crisis. Issues they have been playing loosey goosey with for years.

I hope this doesn't count as political cause in my opinion it isn't. The guy is not running for office and he want's funding cut from those not actively working to solve America's problems.

I'm starting my clock to see how long it takes for this thread to get out of control and shut down.

Didn't watch Dateline. But there's been a lot of talk with no real action taking place. JM2˘

Yo don't know how many years do you? There is a Beetle Baily comic from a couple days ago. Plato is reading something where the quote has to do with solving the debt, balancing the budget, re-filling the treasurey and such.

Beetle ask "Who said that, some Senator"

Plato answers.

I will leave you to find out the answer.. But I will add people with even more time on their hands than I have have researched it and found the statement was made in a work of fiction, not reality.. However it could easily have been made in reailty ... in FIFTY FIVE YEARS BEFORE CHRIST!

I saw that an thought 'profound' but my favorite cartoon series was 'Pogo' and their slant on the political funnies in life. I read it faithfully each week to see which idiot in government got to have the swamp boat named after him / her.

I have had an Anti Starbucks mentality since they first started invading Canada and putting Mom and Pop shops out of business so I don't go their for anything and actually go a few hours without coffee when on BC Ferries (they sell Starbucks) so for me to say their CEO is onto something is pretty magnanimous of me in my humble opinion.

The guy seems to be trying to steer the grass root political movement in the USA but working on all politicians no matter the colour or width of its stripe. I wish him luck. A morning followup has the names of a few hundred CEOs who have signed on the no funding until you play nice regime.

Starbucks CEO sent out a letter to many stock holders stating the same thing...sounds like a good idea to me.

Reminds me of the old saying: "money talks, bulls**t walks", Starbucks CEO is making money talk, now to wait and see how many politicians walk - in the right direction. Who knows, we might see more politicians traveling in MH's around their district to actually meet their employers.

At work we have a PAC...Political Action Committee....which they encourage us to contribute to and it contributes to political members that are favorable to the business.

I refuse to give them one nickel. The lobbyist are ruining the system.

Question:
how many politicans does it take to put in a light bulb? There arn't enough of them; they will never decide which way to turn it.

I do not buy anything at Six Bucks Coffee, stopped at a Six Bucks Coffee Shop in Carson City Nevada last March, I wanted to buy a Travel Mug (because I left the one I had on the running board and of course it ran away )....I looked at almost every Coffee Mug that was in that store NOT one of them was NOT MADE IN CHINA !!!! Also not only were they all made in China, not one of the travels cups was less than $12.95, at least at 7/11 stores are the plastic travel mugs made in the United States of America, they are less than $2.00 bucks and you get your first cup of coffee included with the purchase, and then as long as you use that mug it costs less than $1.00 to fill it.
I have not been in one since.
