New Thor Axis/Vegas "RUV" - Whaddaya Think?

We just received 2 of these Vegas units in at our dealership. During PDI inspection we found enough warrantable items in each unit to fill almost 2 pages - almost all relating to fit and finish. A couple of the more interesting things found in 1 unit was the windshield seal - completely loose, drivers side top of that large bulbous windshield, the main wiring harness from the engine area that runs into the dash area center of the dash had no expanding foam around it. With the hood open you could look right into the back of the dash; would make for an "positive" ventilation problem driving down the road :-), many of the stickers on the side all coming loose at the edges, the armstrong vinyl flooring had several gashes from a knife near the edges and the factory simply re-sealed them down, trim moldings split from air stapling, etc etc etc.

We techs coined a new phrase for the Vegas units... "VEGAS...... it's a gamble!™"

In all fairness, these units are very advantageous for dealers wanting to carry a lower price point unit, and being that they are low end units, issues like those we've found are expected... just keep that in mind when shopping them. It is a decent unit for the money, just dont expect the fit and finish of higher end products - afterall you're not buying a Newell or Prevost ;-)

Why???
There is simply no excuse for lower expectations, due to price point, of fit and finish of what is basically the same parts, in parts installation, as windshield gasket is a windshield gasket, paint is paint, and trim work is trim work regardless of which company puts it on.
Employees choosing to install it badly has nothing to do with price point, and everything to do with poor management who allow it.
A bunch of employees not doing their job has nothing to do with price point, or design.
Certainly one would expect fewer options, with lower price points, but it is not that hard to spray paint, or put window gaskets in, regardless of price point. Price point may dictate quality of the structure, or types of amenities, but it has nothing to do with putting in the parts correctly that makes the finished product.
