New Thor Axis/Vegas "RUV" - Whaddaya Think?

Anybody seen one of these new Thor Axis' at a show yet? Really really interesting concept of an "RUV" - a "Class A" built on the E-350 chassis. Like a MegaSprinter?

The thing I don't understand: I thought Ford was discontinuing the E-Series chassis for motorhomes? Didn't I read that the Ford Transit chassis was going to start replacing the 350 and 450 for Class C's very soon?

While the E-Series van will be phased out over the next few years, Ford is busy covering the commercial vehicle market with 4 chassis, from the E350 to the F53 currently under many RV's. The E150 will go first replaced by the new Transit...the larger models will go later, no published schedule yet..

The new Thor Axis and Vegas look sweet. I was hoping around $62,000.00 but I guess not so.

I, too am wondering what the difference of the two models are. Can anyone share some insight? Both models look sweet.

Thanks in advance for any info..

The Axis and Vegas have the same floor plan and specs. The only difference are the exterior colors both HD Max and the interior decor. They both have the same cabinetry choices. Hope this helps.

It's been nagging on me for a while now...I knew I had seen this type RV before...

...It hit me today. It's just like the German made Concorde Carver:
Concorde Reisemobile GmbH - Description
or Charisma:
Concorde Reisemobile GmbH - Description

These RV's are part of a fully developed RV line in the EU...They even have a Class A ToyHauler!

Thor calls it a RUV (Recreational Utility Vehicle)...I call it the future of RV's in the US as fuel prices go up and up and environmental pressure grow!

Safe travels

I like it! Been there in the situations mentioned in the brochure, i.e., traveling for kids'/grand kids all-day sports events ~ would be nice to have in certain situations for sure. Pretty good size holding tanks, too, don't ya' think!?

What kind of gas mileage should we expect? What is the engine? They say good fuel mileage but you never know. Are they available for sale now?

It has a Ford V-10 and I would suspect it should get around 8 to 12 at a min for MPG. Too short for me, I'll stick to a 36 to 40 footer with some slides!
