New to me
Hey, just getting started. Bought a very clean 97 Allegro Bay class A. Trying to figure out everything. Have a large white on/off switch in bathroom. Previous owner wasn't sure and only had motorhome a few months. Can't find it in owners manual. Can't see what it does when placed in on position. Any suggestions.

If it looks like a typical home wall switch, (120 v) it might be to turn on the electric element of the water heater. (don't turn it on if tank is empty)
If it looks like a 12 v rocker switch, it could be for a light (check by turning on overhead light switch on the fixture then try switch) another water pump switch, a fan, etc.

Hi Todd - I would start by putting a meter on the switch wires and see if it is 12VDC or if it is 120VAC, Or if there is power at that source at all. Good luck. These things are sometimes a real challenge.

I'll try and post a pic. It's a large rocker switch. Probably 4"x2". Would say was a 12v

Its probably the 120V switch for the water heater. I have one that meets your description in my 2004 Allegro. Make sure the water heater is full before you try it, or you could burn out the heater element in inside the heater.

Hi Todd,
I am looking at buying an older coach and wonder if you are happy and secure with purchasing an older MH now that you have had it a while? I see some very nice looking ones and I tend to think people take pretty good care of these because of the investment. If it looks hard used it probably is and if it looks nice I think it probably is. No guarantees I understand but there never are.
Just wondered if you were still happy with purchasing older?
Thank you, Lynne

Still new to me. I feel like you, in that ours is clean and maintained so comfortable with the purchase. I'm sure I'll have some issues but none that I can't take care of myself. As we grow closer to retirement and this becomes more of our life we will probably upgrade.
