New "toad" tires

I decided to put four new tires on my Malibu today. The size is P215/60R16.

I went to Walmart first. They wanted $960.86 for four Michelin X radials, mounted, balanced and lifetime rotate and balance.

I then moyesed on down to Sam's club and they gave me a price for the same Michelin tire, 80,000 mile warranty, same rotate and balancing deal. Their price was $474.33. Theirs was a special discount price for buying 4 mounted tires, today and tomorrow.

Guess which one I took? That's less than half the cost of Walmart's deal. How do you figure that one??

All four tires were "born" in late September, 2009

It must pay to belong to Sam's Club?

Michelin has a $70 rebate on 4 tires. Did you get it on your price or did they give you a coupon to send in to recieve it? I missed out by 2 days(to early) when I had to buy my new tires(michelins). Good Luck.

indiana journey,

The discount was applied to to bill I paid. No mail in certificate.

The girl said that today, Wednesday 01/06/10, is the last day of the discount.

Cheers,
