As far as Ray Rice issue he should of never hit her like that. But what most people don't know is she called him everything under the sun and slapped him good twice. We don't here this just what he did. I don't agree with what he did but there is more to this story than the media is reporting. Oh by the way they have made up and are now Married. Oh well. Jim

Soon, with all the rules changing the way they are, it's going to become professional flag football.
As for Rice, he gets what he deserves. He and his wife regret it now but it should have never occurred. Where I come from never hit a woman, they'll shoot you!

Rvjimmy she didnt deserve that kind of treatment
regardless if she slapped and called him names.
Is there more to the story that would justify Rice punching
her out cold and dropping her head on the floor.?

I'm missing the PC picture here, guys. An employer hires people for the skill sets that they bring to the table during "working hours".
What somebody does off the clock is what LEOs and DAs are for...so WHY in the HECK are the NFL and NBA getting involved in PC?
Rice is a pro athlete, and all of them are full of testosterone, aggressive personalities, competitiveness. Doing this to Rice will trigger some morale issues with a lot of player in the league, IMO.
What aren't the courts handling these things, rather than an employer?

I agree with you but the media is so one sided. Everyone is tried and hung by the media before their day in court. I'm just saying they should report all the facts not just the sensational ones that are big news. Just for the record he should of never laid a hand on her ever. Jim

We have become sensationalist and titillated by stuff like this. Good news does not sell. All you have to do is watch the so called "entertainment" shows. Follow the likes of the Khardasians or Madona.

The media didn't tell the Rice story. The video did.

Does not look like an intentional foot to the face. Don't really see the need to try to hurdle.

From what I've seen and heard, Rice told the police and the NFL exactly what transpired in the elevator long before the latest video came out. The video backs up what he already said. This goes to show that we are a visual society.

I suspect from the number of womens shelters and the campaign to build a mens shelter that spousal abuse is not limited to the pro athletes. Look at poor old Tiger having his Escalade body worked by a nine iron.
While none of this stuff should go on I wonder what rationale is being used to make the employer responsible for policing it. Are they paying their workers too much? Are their workers too immature? Most will agree that paying a fellow 5 - 10 million dollars a year is on the high side and all of them are considered to be adults in order to sign their contract.
Where will the responsibility end? This is physical abuse. Is the employer expected to deal with mental abuse or fiscal abuse? And the list goes on.
