No response on classified ads

Is it just me or does it seem like people don't respond to an ad that they have posted. I wonder if it's still for sale. Maybe there needs to be a time element. If it's not removed in a certain amount of time it's automatically deleted and you have to repost. Just sayin!

I'm with you 100%. It's a real pet peeve of mine. They should at least post that it's been sold.

We sold our old toad here on the classifieds. I responded to any questions. After the sale I couldn't figure out how to remove the ad but after posting in the "forum issues" a mod here quickly responded on how to do it.

It is just common courtesy to remove the ad if the item is sold but some people don't have that.

I have a tow dolly advertised. I can't update it from the app, which is my primary access. My understanding is that it would expire after 30 days so I have not updated it.

I would still like to sell it though.

If I remember correctly, the option update or remove the ad is there. Think it might be "Options" near upper right corner of ad. Had to do a little looking last time I wanted to do that.

I just updated my ad. You have to go into your own ad and under "Options" you can click "SOLD IT" or click "Edit". Once in the ad, you have the option at the bottom left of the ad to delete it.

I wish there was an option to "Repost" the ad to bring it to the top.

We are working to cull old ads. The software is outdated, 3rd party, quirky, lacks 21st century options & some it has have stopped working. For example, ads are supposed to drop off after a max of 3 months, unless the seller renews. This is not working. We are looking at new software.

Some sellers join just to sell an RV (you can tell by the 0 post count in their ad) & often don't return once the ad is placed so they may never see comments made by interested parties. Certainly disrespectful, but their loss if they choose to ignore inquiries by interested buyers.

When the items do sell, some sellers make a post comment denoting. Unfortunately, that doesn't trigger the software's auto removal. When an item is sold, the seller needs to click on the words Product Options in their ad & then choose SOLD IT! from the drop down menu. This will put a SOLD on the main listing as well as trigger (if it's working ) the ad to disappear after about 3 days.

We'll try to, manually, keep the ads more current.
