Found an interesting web site for anyone who might have some time on their hands.

www.shinemicro.com then "about AIS" then "live AIS display" for commercial maritime shipping for most of U.S. It's intuitive except on the top of the maritime chart displays where there is a link "Version update...click here..." This give vessel I.D. on maps and satellite.

I like it because where we are parked, on Admiralty Inlet on Puget Sound in WA, I can I.D. ships and where they are going and also go to their web sites to find info.
