I've been wondered for a long time to know when you guys stick a state/province sticker on the north american map, is there when you cross it or visit it ?

We count it if the wheels hit the road. I know others that say they have to sleep there.

There are two different groups. One is pass-thru, the other is sleep-over. Pick your group, neither is wrong or right.

I used to think having one of those maps would be fun to have. I have since decided that I don't need the clutter on my wall space.

That said, I did like those old-fashioned decals (the ones were they had to soak in water for mounting, remember those?) from national parks and other places. I had my old bedroom window filled with those.

We got one from AMAZON - they have a couple different types. Unfortunately I didn't read the fine print and got the one without Canada - but it is pretty nice regardless**.

When to affix stickers - your unit, your rules. Ours just ends up being that it's where we spent at least a night but pass through works too. Our map is located on the inside of the entry door. It's out of the weather and, quite frankly we don't really care if others see it or not. Oh and we also try to collect magnets of each state as well and is our sole RV knick-knack collection (except for a couple hats and coffee cups, both of which are used, not displayed).

I looked at the maps but then found someone reproducing the vintage state decals so I bought a set of those, slowly filling one of the windows...

North America map stickers

Your map, so you decide. For us, we must RV overnight. We have 3 states to go, HI, ND, and CA. We will fly to HI and rent an RV so we can get that state. We also collect magnets and put them on the fridge in our garage on our property since we do not have a place to put them in our RV (we are full timers).

We only sticker the map if we've camped there. Our choice. Guess we'll take a tent to Hawaii!!!
