North Korea question

I don't want to discuss politics or break any forum rules. Just curious if anyone knows why north Korea is bent on bombing south Korea?
I keep reading about the tensions there but never really hear what Kim Jong UN is attempting to achieve. Does he want to rule the south? Just wondering as it seems to be just an effort to stir things up. Haven't heard that he wants control or anything like that. Just wants his nuclear weapons.
So right or wrong our how you feel about it can someone explain. Thanks

KJU is upset that we have maintained a military presence in South Korea-bullying.
Just watch, the USA will end up apologizing for it.

His dad just passed away not too long ago and he's the one in charge now so he has to show his people that he can lead.

It appears to me that the military runs that poor country and that this leader bows to them. It is a very worrisome situation.

Just imagine being brought up in a very elite family, being a spoiled brat with no responsibility, or job. Then at 30 you are in charge of the whole country. He is just trying to make everyone know he is now important. JMHO. Is scary though.

So it appears to be nothing more than this idiot flexing his muscles.
Curious what the US would do to counter an attack. Cause we all know innocent civilians will be killed in any type of bombing.

Kim controls the media in his country why not just tell his people the US already has backed down. Who cares what he tells his people.

North Korea hates that we maintain a military presence in the south and that they can not do as they wish without tacit US permission, so, they threaten all around them. They are now nuclear and have demonstarted they have the ability to first strike. That means they carry a much larger stick then before and we will get a bloody nose if we intervene. The NK message is don't mess with NK now or you get hurt.

For many years the western message has been to not achieve nuclear capability. But Iran and North Korea have clearly demonstrated that it's simply better strategically to deny you are trying to become nuclear capable or argue that its development is purely peaceful and then without warning, show the world that you now are nuclear. If done that way, you are way better off tactically because you can effectively create great harm to the west with no meaningful reprisals.

The US is very fickle about who it wants and doesn't want to be in it's inner circle. Isreal, A Resounding YES! Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, not so. Iraq, well, it all depends on whos side Iraq is on at that moment. Also, Pakistan is effectively selling technology to anyone who has enough $ and wants nuclear capability. The Jeanie is out of the bag now and nuclear deterrents don't work for you unless you ARE nuclear. So, now, the arms race.

Because i'm not asking for a discussion on politics or opinions on politics. Just a question regarding current events. I believe there is sufficient difference and hopefully enough people that can respond with an educated reply that had nothing to do with politics.

Political discussions that don't apply directly to the RV Industry are not permitted as per our rules. Our rules also state that we must " be nice ". So , lets try to keep this thread as civil as we can without political discussion.
Thanks
Cliff
