After 27 years on the job, I pulled the pin 8 years ago. It was a little odd at first but after about 3 months or so I settled in to a new and welcome life style. Lovin' every minute of it!!

Reading this in my transition office as I'm 60 days out as of today. LOL - when I take days off to use up my time, I look forward to coming to work to rest....

Time for more coffee!

Thus far, it hasn't been much of a retirement. I came down with a headcold (first one in almost 2 years) over the weekend.

It is a lot better today.

Pulled the plug on my second retirement over a year ago and never looked back. Sold the 5er, bought the DP and starter traveling in it. We have been doing 2 to 4 week trips so far and love the opportunity to stay longer in areas we love. Planning for a March National Park trip is getting a lot harder as there are lots of folks hitting the roads and this far out they are already booked. So we will wing it...

Good luck on your March trip! I grabbed a campsite reservation for April as soon as Yosemite National Park's reservations website fired the starting gun. Most were already grabbed up.

And as it's been said, "Well done." Congratulations on your retirement. Funny how not one person said anything negative about "going to the house."

We retired young 8 years ago, and are finally about to hit real retirement. Our problem is that we're perpetual travelers--traveling the world once or twice a year.

We probably work harder now than when working, but it's great sleeping late and staying up late (on the internet.) Have a great life.
