Damned glad to get it and have Medicare. Now I know why I'm mostly solo - no patience for all that complaining. I can take "ain't it awful" for about 30 seconds and then I hear my sainted mother calling me for dinner.

I'll get a a whopping $7.51 increase in my monthly social security - really offsets the $110 a month increase in health insurance. Fortunately, I have another source of income.

I have a pension from my retirement, it NEVER supplies a cola, thats right, I will never get an increase as long as I live. Therefore, I am very grateful for any increase in my SS check. Besides, my old dad told me for 40 years not to depend on the government, they do not owe you a GOOD living, so I have investments that we sacrificed for when we really did not think we could afford it, .....sure are glad now that we did it. Just our experience and opinion.

Darn, since my mail is being forwarded from Mi to Fl by the great USPS, it will be a week before I know what I'm going to get. So, do ya think I should go ahead and get that new Prevost or just wait and see?

I can't talk about what is in my attic until the statute of limitations expires.

I'm sure something else is going to eat up any SS gains. I remember back in the 70s when Motorola gave a raise to most employees. The price of bread went up at all grocery stores the next day.

John, you've helped me a bunch, now it is my turn.

On your computer screen, click on the start icon, then in the window that comes up, type "calc" and press enter. When the calculator window comes up, enter 1.7 X whatever you are getting in SS now. That should be close to what you will now be getting. I take PayPal, but there is no charge for this little tip.

Wow, thanks Mike! Looks like me and Clare will get about $3600 more per month. Can you do my taxes?

Unless that 1.7 was suppose to 1.7% or X .017. If that's the case, nevermind, I'll do my own taxes

hi all

part of the small increase "problem" is they have changed how inflation is calculated. lower of course.

i doesn't feel like it is a big difference to me.

but, the fact that they changed the rules on the retired military,
seems to me to be morally wrong. while they are on their own fat plan.

Poor entitled folks...

Sorry that the automatic increases you've come to expect as your due are so paltry this year!
