Just in case any of you ever order a Club Sandwich at The Golden Crown off exit 95 from I-84 in Mountain Home ID be prepared for something different. It had a fried egg and chunks of Turkey with some really tasty bacon and tomatoe. First time I've ever seen this.
What's the oddest Club Sandwich you've ever had??

My family went to a sports bar called Dinos in Latrobe PA while at the Little League 10-11 yr. old State Championship playoffs---my husband had "The Pittsburg Steeler Sandwich" (since Steeler spring training is held near there).
Are you ready? Follow me on this one: Two toasted cheese sandwiches, and in between these sandwiches sits a burger, cheese, bacon, onion and fried
He said the eggs "made the sandwich" Wonderful place if you are ever in the area!

Some years ago I ordered a BLT at a little town in New Mexico - I forget exactly where. When I bit into it, I realized there was no bacon - just lettuce and tomato. I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she said "If you want bacon, you should have ordered it extra". I replied "But it's a BLT - Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato!". "Nope", says she, "it's BREAD, Lettuce and Tomato - if you want bacon that's a BBLT". Well, now I understood how they could sell a BLT for $2.50, so I ate it quickly and we left. And tipped suitable for the service received, of course.

Actually Gary, that kinda makes sense. Never thought of BLT that way before. Next time I order one I'll ask for a BBLT and see what happens.
BTW, that club sandwich in Idaho was pretty good. Just odd.

Did it have mayo? If so she would have said it was a BLMT or something similar, can't imagine the tip I might have left. Would depend on how well the napkins took the ink.
Had a really good Bacon no extra charge BLT in Morrison, Colorado last summer. Must have been at least 6 slices of thick cut pepper bacon plus 2 nice slices of tomato, drink included for around $6.00

Not really a 'club' but try shredding some iceberg, coarse chop some tomato and cover the bacon while still in the pan with some of your favorite cheese(I like Mozzarella or Havarti best)...just as the cheese melts, stuff it all in a pita half and squirt some Ranch or Italian dressing down inside the pita instead of mayo...yum!
When I was a kid, I LOVED peanut butter(crunchy), tomato and onion sprinkled heavily with black pepper on rye. Maybe not for everybody and it could explain some 'THINGS'. Bob

We love Bren's BLT. She makes grilled cheese sandwitch with two slices of Kraft singles in an iron skillet. When done she opens the two slices of bread, exposing the melted cheese. Then she adds mayo to both sides and tops with tomato, lettuce and really loads on her crispy bacon slices.
