You need to get one of these license plates:

I also retired twice: once at 55 to lock in my pension before the company could reduce it and again at 62 when the boss ticked me off once too often.

I retired 10/31//1998 after 38 years with the same company. 11/1/1998 I was on my way to Yosemite for a week in the RV by myself as wife did not retire until 2003.
They say you won't miss the job, but will miss the people. I didn't miss either one.
Enjoy travelling and meeting NEW friends along the way.

Well I do miss work, as I loved what I did for a living, miss the people also, but I don't miss getting up a 5:30 AM. Just remember "LIFE IS GOOD"

I am doing it next year. I have been with East Carolina University 38 years. My wife can't retire from ECU until September next year so we will be going out together. It is so diferent there now. Most of the people I worked with when I went there are already retired, so I will not miss the job, but I will miss my access to the technology items in my department.

I have been retired for 9 years and don't miss the "W" word at all. You do realize the W word is one of those four letter words that retired people are not allowed to use...We are Newbie's to RVing, took us a little longer to take the plunge but me and the Wife are really looking forward to it...good luck in your retirement and Gods Speed.

I joined the ranks of the "not gainfully employed" 3 years, 3 months, and 21 days ago- But who's counting?

Bought my first RV (see sig line) last January, and so far have 10K miles under my belt. DW is taking 8 months off from work next year, and we expect to tour the US and Canada.

After that, who knows?

These are truly the Golden Years.

Go Pirates! I'm only 47 (only...pfft) so I have a way to go yet. Grew up in Greenville, NC. It will always be home to me. Nice to see a fellow Pirate on the net! Arrrrrr!
