Congratulations. 9 years of retirement here.

If I had known that retirement was this much fun, I would have done it first!!

Congratulations Dave!!! I retired last September and haven't looked back after the first 30 days past. I had 5000 employees and a 700 million budget and the stress to go with it. I turned down another job offer and went Coach shopping. I needed something to keep me busy and as it has been said here the family time now is available so that's what we are doing. We are on the road visiting family and won't be back home until August sometime. Keeping our home as a home base and going where we want. Stay busy. The old saying. " Get busy Living"
Good luck to you and your wife...

I "retired" in 1999 and have been waiting for the DW to retire. Then in Aug 2008, the week she put in for retirement, her daughter died, leaving us two grandkids to raise so she cancelled her retirement. I kept working. The oldest has left home and the youngest is 15 now. As of now my wife has been off work for over 3 years and they finally terminated her. Still no true idea of what her health problem is and more testing to go.
So, enjoy retirement when you can as you never know what the future holds!
