In general I agree BUT (always a but) I saw the Long, Long Trailer when it first came out in '53. I thought it was dumb then as I do now. Lucy had her funny (slapstick) moments and Desi just wasn't funny. Today, critics would knock the movie for characterizing Hispanics (Cuban isn't Hispanic) as affable 'boobs'.

I should point out that I have never seen anything funny from Charlie Chaplin.

JMHO, of course.

I have never been able to get wrapped around the 3 Stooges. Some funny stuff but the violence is not really funny ... to me. YMMV.
