I like to make sure I always have 2 different credit cards with me. Last week our card was denied because it was being used "away from our normal area". They had been notified that we were traveling last October, we have been using it for 3-4 thousand dollars worth of purchases each month since then, but using it twice at Macy's withing 30 minutes for purchases totalling less than $50, triggered their fraud alert cancelling my account until I got new cards. Using it twice in a row to buy fuel $100 at a whack didn't trigger anything, being in Texas rather that Washington for 3 months didn't trigger anything, being in Tucson for 6 weeks using it almost daily didn't trigger any fraud.

Twice in Macy's and I should have been calling to thank them that they stopped "what could have been fraud". I didn't see it quite the way they did, so we've parted ways. No delay waiting for a replacement card from them, no delay trying to open another account with another bank. Simply take the next card out of the wallet for each purchase.

X2 for ShopSafe. It creates a new number for a specific payment and you set the limit. When I use it I put the exact amount of the purchase as the limit.
