You may keep your answer to yourself, the rest of us know. Not personal.

I am second generation Navy and damn proud of our U.S. Navy Seals that performed this great accomplishment without the loss of one American life in the process. THANK GOD FOR MY NAVY SEALS. And I will also be the first to remember that these guys were the ''tip of the spear of justice'' in this event and remember that all our services were involved in some manner in the successful outcome concerning this operation. It is my understanding that about ten percent of our military people actually fire a shot in anger against our enemy and the rest are ''support'' for this ten percent. Please remember this. ''Without that support, the ten percent could not function''
God bless all who serve this great nation. God bless our veterans for their service and their sacrifice to this great nation.
I am so proud to have been a tiny part in the great machine that defends this nation against all enemies.

God bless our troops and bring them home safe and real soon...
Nuff said for now ....

Let us not forget our military. They are Americans, and have also been killed by terrorists. Not on US Soil, but it is because of them that it has not been on US Soil, in my opinion.

A quote from Steve Waldman:

"So why do we feel Americans haven’t been touched by terrorism since 9/11? The truth is, we make an unconscious distinction between soldiers and civilians, between deaths here and deaths there. Soldiers volunteer to be in harm’s way; civilians don’t. Deaths in a combat zone on the other size of the world don’t rock our social order the way office buildings exploding too.

As a civilian on American soil, I’m relieved that it’s not my family being attacked. But that way of thinking does implicitly de-value the lives of soldiers. They have mothers and spouses and children, just like the 9/11 victims did. That they’re dying to keep me safe makes their sacrifice even greater — and our gratitude more intense.

So let’s give new prayers of thanks — and stop insulting the memory of the soldiers by saying no Americans have been killed by terrorists since 9/11."

Several questions up-thread and I will now comment:

What's political about....? A whole bunch of headlines that have appeared since, No further comment or discussion on those, save to say "Way above my pay grade"

Why dump at sea instead of providing a body as proof: I thought the answer given was good there.. They do not what his grave to be a shrine.. Makes snice.

Why handle with all due respect ... (This from a cartoon I saw) Well... .. How much respect do you feel he was due.. they gave him at least that much.

Does burial at sea mean he gets STURGON? Good one.

A comment to lighten this thread some.. Another cartoon I saw showed Bin-laden in his new eternal home.. The person transporting him looked back at the somewhat surprised Bin-laden and said "If it helps,, I'm a Virgin".

Oh, how was he being transported.. By pitch fork of course, cause that's what they use down there.

Prior to the start of WWII, the Japanese chief of staff said: Do not make plans to invade the US mainland as you will be fired upon by every blade of grass.

He was educated in southern California. Wonder what he meant ?
