Congrats folks! You're living OUR dream! We had planned to rent our house for a year and travel around the country, but medical problems have delayed that venture. We hope to get away right after Christmas unless something else unexpected rears it's ugly head!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

You make it sound so easy Homeless! It took us a year before selling and 3 years after to get rid of most of our household junk but we are finally full timers. Throughout it all my husband kept reminding me that the definition of "sentimental" is it costs a cent and you have to be mental to keep it. Good luck to you and to MSHappyCampers I hope your health issues get resolved so you can start your adventure!

a question before hitting the road

wife retired and I'm next in 23 days but whose counting. 35' dolphin is ready to go. We are holding on to the house for now but my goal is full timers. We live in middle TN. Do any of you shut your water off if you leave for 2-3 months and if so do you shut your hot water off or turn it down.

If you shut the water off be sure to shut the hot water heater off as well so you do not burn it up.
