Outdoor grills
Does anyone have feedback on which outdoor grill to buy. It is my wife and I.

When we hit the road FT we purchased a Coleman Roadtrip Grill........it folds and fit in a side compartment.
After 4th time using it lid fell off......cheap hinges/pop rivets broke
And by then I was fed up with spending an hour scrubbing/cleaning it so that it could be packed away.
Plus I just didn't care for the 'propane grilling'
Cleaned it up, repaired the hinges/lid and gave it a way
Then purchased a Weber Smokey Joe 14" Charcoal BBQ.
Fill it up with charcoal....cook on it....place lid on.....then use again next night. Repeat until last night before leaving.
Dump ashes next morning..place lid on.....couple bungee cords across lid and stow it in side compartment standing up.
Never fell over, easy to stow, no big deal to clean and was perect for 2 adults PLUS it has that Charcoal BBQ flavor.
Still using it 8 yrs later.
Propane Grill........
Folks seem to really like the Weber Qs

For gas...Weber Q series grills. Made like the proverbial brick poop house, lasts forever, and Weber is great about replacing parts, even on 10 year old grills.

I bought the Colman Road trip grill back in 2009, it has been a wonderful grill I have it permanently mounted on the slide out tray and this works great, need to grill, slide it out.........lots of storage under it also. I use to haul it out every trip, and this setup hit me one day.
Pan fried Lake Erie Walleye going on.......... In Tennessee.

As Steve said, the Weber Q series are great. I have used the Baby Q for six years now and it still works like new with regular cleaning. The heavy cast iron grill has very good even heat over the surface.

If you like charcoal the weber has a small smoker that is great for two people.

x-10 on the Weber-Q. They work good in the wind; holds heat well;I have the larger Q.

Started with the Weber LP shaped like a shoe box. Didn't do well in the wind, and hard to clean. Little gas bottles were always empty when I wanted to cook. Temps were uneven, and impossible to control for low slow ribs cooking. Used it three or four years.
Prefer charcoal taste, sold the little Weber in a garage sale, bought a cheap charcoal grille,legs folded up for storage, at Lowes. Used it three years. Messy, messy, messy. A real pain, to pull in late at night, want a steak, get out the grille, get the charcoal going, finally cook. Then clean up,the next am before you leave. And always charcoal dust on everything close in the storage compartment.
Bought a Weber Q 1200 and a mini 10lb LP bottle 1 1/2 years ago. Best yet! Stows easily, quick setup, behaves in the wind, Q grille design protects the burner orffices better than the old Weber. Better temp control and reliability. Cleans up easily.
If we were folks who setup, and stay at only a couple of places a year I would go with the Little Green Egg, but if you setup and take down a lot, charcoal is just a pain. In My Humble Opinion.
I like the Q system, even bought the griddle plates.....

I've got the Weber Jumbo Joe 18" charcoal grill. Measures about 21" tall and has over 250 sq. inches of cooking area. It fits in my underneath storage area (where door is open). I do not feel it is too much of pain to clean and store. Plus, as far as cooking steaks, etc. charcoal is the only way to enjoy your selection.
Here is a pic of it in the foreground. That's the way I've camping since the 70's.

14 inch smoky Joe for us. Love to be able to get away from gas grills and cook on charcoal again.
