Hi, traveling form TX to FL next month and need some ideas for overnight stop meals. I plan to take 3 days each way and the two overnight stops we do not plan to unhitch.

I will take a grill and have some frozen pulled pork, meatloaf, maybe some Chinese meals in the freezer for supper but was checking for other ideas as well.

What do you do for nights you don't unhitch to go out to eat and don't have time or are to tired from driving to cookout?

I could use any lunch (while traveling) ideas as well.

We usually find places to stop where we can walk to places to eat if just stopping for a night to sleep while traveling. If there's nothing close, we always have stuff for sandwiches or something we can heat in the microwave. I don't like to get out all the cooking stuff when we only have a few hours to enjoy before going to bed, and we like to walk and explore.

I usually plan for leftovers...spaghetti, hamburger patties, etc that can be warmed in the micro wave. BLT's are good as well as boxed fettuchini alfredo with shrimp (frozen) heated and salad. sometimes just a can of soup or chili.
I never go hungry.

We usually make up dishes like Mac & Cheese or chili, which can be heated in the microwave. We also like to stay at Flying J/Pilot on our travels and some of them have real good food. We've stopped at a few that even have had full blown restaurants attached.

Morning it's coffee from the Keurig, a breakfast sandwich (Jimmy Dean) in micro and we're off again.

Always have chicken patties as well as salads for quick eating. Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich in the morning always fits right in with morning coffee. Enjoy your trip, Safe travels.

If you are gonna overnite in a Walmart parking lot you obviously cant, or should not, take out the grill and stuff. There was a thing about the Walmart chicken that it seemed some people really like the stuff. When we make a long jog to someplace we have prepared meals, stop in Walmart parking lot, and then nuke the stuff or put it on the stove to reheat. We run the generator and put out no "stuff" outside the MH.

Leftovers, sandwiches, TV dinners, or frozen pizzas from the freezer. We cook them in the microwave.

If we are trying to make extra miles we will roll into a Cracker Barrel about 9pm. Go in an eat dinner and ask manager if we can park there for the night. Always OK. Generally leave before they open at 6am. Not big breakfast fans.

Stay at Walmart we will go in and get a rotisserie chicken. $5.99. Full meal for two.

Stay at Flying J. Might eat at their Dennys Other than that any left overs will get cleaned up. Generally keep turkey or something for sandwiches.

Good ideas. We might even make up an egg casserole ahead of time for mornings.

Any ideas for lunches on the go...besides lunchmeat? Want to be able to eat while rolling down the road.

Often use our crock pot on long days if we'll be running the generator anyway (AC in a class a).

Randalls has some nice soups. All sealed up incase it tips over in the frig. My favorite is Chicken And Sausage Jambalaya. We sometimes pick up some Bbq at our favorite place to take along.

Most all big box store's that offer overnight parking, have places to eat all around them. We have always done this, if not just picked something up in Walmart/shopping center while picking up some needed items on the list. The big plus is getting our for a walk after a days drive......
