Me and Willa went up to Nova Scotia for a look around. We got a camp sight and unhooked the truck for a look around. Most of the roads up there are two lane roads and they kinda meander along with beautiful country side to look at. Farms and little communities dot the roadway and the ocean is simply beautiful. Traffic was light and we kinda rode along just looking and enjoying the scenery. I had my window down to enjoy the ocean breeze. I kinda drifted over the dividing line on a curvy road and I met a car with a lady in it. I whipped back into my lane and kinda smiled at the approaching car coming around a curve. The lady leaned out her window and yelled ....''PIG''.......''PPP III GGG'' and she waved her arm out the window and I figured she was point at me. This really angered me because there was no danger of a wreck so I leaned out my window and yelled ''UGLY WOMAN''......''UUUUU GGGG LLL YYY WW OOOO MMM AAA NNNNN'' and I waved my arm out my window and pointed at her. I felt real proud of myself for my quick thinking and my comment back to her. I looked over at Willa and kinda smiled a satisfactory smile as we rounded the curve and hit a 400 pound ''PIG'' standing in the middle of my lane..........lol.... (cough cough),,,,,

God,,,,,,,,please bring our troops back to us safe and sound.

Just think, if you had hit it you would have had a pig-in-the-poke - so to speak.

Steve, I wouldn't believe anything I hear about or from a sailor, and half of what I would ever see.

But his stories are cute.

Reminds me of the two preachers walking down the road carrying a sign
"The end is near, turn ye around"

Cars would go zipping by and the drivers would shout things like
"Religious Nuts" and then as the car sped around the curve SPLASH.

One preacher finally turned to the other and said:
"Do you think we should change the sign to read "Bridge Out Ahead"?"

I hear ya SeeJay. In 1966 I was driving (65 Olds 442)West on I70 when I topped one of those huge Kansas "mountains". Way off in the distance I could see tiny black speck on the interstate. It took me probably 5 minutes to get close to those black specks. Only then did I distinguish hogs on the interstate. Hitting one, as you know, is akin to hitting a large boulder. Never did know how those hogs got on there, there was not a house or building in sight, but I missed them all.

Wayne the Marine is ''snarter'' than he looks........lol........
I will confess to this .....
Me and Willa did go to Nova Scotia. (beautiful up there)
I did kinda ease over the line due to distractions ....
A lady did yell ''sheep'' and waved her arm.........
I actually slowed down due to her warning ........
I dodged the ''sheep'' in the road because I was going slow....
I did honk real loud and if I had hit the sheep it would have damaged my truck.
The sheep turned and ran out of the road.....
You will have to admit that it makes a much better ''story'' the way I wrote it.
I sincerely hope no one is mad or upset with me for taking ''poetic liberties'' and ''embellishing'' the ''happening'' by replacing ''SHEEP'' with ''PIG''.......

Here is a secret you guys should look for in my postings. If I put in a (COUGH, COUGH) somewhere or anywhere in a posting, you can bet your lunch money that the ''old salt'' is embellishing the posting just a little bittie bit in the hope that the posting is more interesting and maybe a little bittie bit funny.

God please bless our troops and keep them safe to come back to us soon .....

Looks like you got a little payback for hogging the road.

SeaJay,

You should not have told them. They make fun of us old ex-sailors.

It was the ''COUGH, COUGH'' at the end that should have clued them in. Wayne the Marine has read so much of my posts he can tell when I am using ''Poetic Liberty'' in a post. Its all in fun anyway. All these full grown people with nothin better to do than to read this silly forum. If you are like me Dave, I just figure that anyone that makes fun of us old sailors is just jealous of our good looks, winning ways, and all the admiration we get from the pretty ladies. It is common knowledge that everyone wishes they had been a Sailor. Nothin like us no where and that is the truth.

Nuff said for now......

Thank a vet for your freedom. They earned it for you while you slept, warm and safe...........
