I agree about Lynchberg , and include most of the DC area. Sure, its fast, and all the other drivers are idiots, but overall, they are more courteous than usual. Probably because of all the lawyers available there. That, or they all know that if you cut someone off, they may pull a gun and shoot you.

Theres a billboard along the interstate going through Tampa Florida. put up by an attorney
It reads----------Call me and I'll sue someone for you.

Another one-------when the superbole game was in town a reporter asked an attorney how he could afford the skybox that was over $4000.
His answer-----I just sue someone when I need some more money.

Pathetic - try this.
I'm on an MC traveling at 50 mph and the idiot pulls out and broadsides me. Then he runs. Fortunately the MC pulled his license plate off the front bumper and he is pending court date. When asked during his confession interview what he thought happened to me he replies with words to the affect, "I thought I had killed him."

Hey, I'm here!

It doesn't matter what you drive - the same idiot drivers are still pathetic.

Umm, it's the other way around. You would be found at fault and ticketed and then loose a bunch of money in civil court. Use your cell phone to call the police and they will take care of it.

Round here, unless the police witness it in action and determine it to be "road rage" nothing will happen to the tailgator unless you're driving an 18 wheeler and get cut off where there's a cop to witness it.

In most states if you are rear ended the rear ender is at fault not the rear endee. All you have to do is say a squirrel ran out in the road and you had to stop because you are a PETA member.

You need say nothing. The rear ender is defacto liable unless he can prove otherwise.

If you slam on your brakes and cause the accident you will be found at fault, especially with your bumper sticker. If you deliberately cause accidents you will not walk free. Accident scene investigators will reconstruct the accident, interview witnesses and you will go down as you should.

Unless it can be proven that extenuating circumstances exist, the default scenario (at least here in Texas) is that the driver who rear-ended another vehicle will be cited for following too closely.

And I love the squirrel (dog or cat) defense. You can always say you though another car was pulling out in front of you and you were stopping to give them room.

I love the commerical where the two squirrels high-five each other after the accident. They NEVER hang around after an accident.

It is also the main form of insurance fraud which most jurisdictions are privy to. I'll ask one of the deputies next time I go in to the SO.

What is my bumper sticker?? Oh, I do have a Bush/Cheney. Is that to which you refer?

I agree, if it can be shown that if you set up the collision, you might get nailed but the burden of proof is on the rear ender. And it is hard to prove. Even if true.
