Same back at you, fellow 'nerd.'
Looking forward NEXT year, at 9:26:53 AM when it will be 3/14/15 9:26:53
or 3.141592653, ∏ to 9 places!!
Of course most of the rest of the world writes date as day/month/year, so it doesn't work, but then they also use the metric system, makes too much sense!

Pi R square.
No, Pi R round. Cornbread R square.
In Alaska, where it gets very cold, pi is only 3.00.
As you know, everything shrinks in the cold.
They call it Eskimo pi.

Like your chart. Refresh me does the chart reach the final decimal, or is it an infinite number?
Obviously I'm too old to remember and quit @ .14

Pi (∏) is an irrational number, it can never be expressed as a fraction. It's also a transcendental number, having been calculated to more than 11 TRILLION places right of the decimal point, never repeating a pattern.
The record for the most digits of pi memorized belongs to Chao Lu, of China, who recited pi from memory to 67,890 places.
While the story that Alabama's legislature tried to define ∏ as 3, this was just a bit of satire written to poke fun at New Mexico's legislature's attempts to restrict teaching of evolution, (Snopes) Indiana's House DID pass a bill redefining the area of a circle and ∏ but it died in the state senate in 1897.

I have a round object that I need to know the measurement around the outside edge. Unfortunately, I only have a solid yardstick for measuring and it will not bend around the round edge. Any ideas?
Sorry to hijack the holiday thread.

Wrap it with a length of string. For more accuracy, wrap it 10 times and divide length by 10. Or just roll the object down the yardstick.

If it is a disk measure the diameter and multiply by 3.14
If it is a ball measure the height and multiply by 3.14

It sounds like you have a "disk" or some undefined round object, and you want to know the circumference. The following formula will get you to 2 decimal place accuracy as outlined by the previous poster,
PiD=Circumference. This being "3.14xD=C". With D=diameter, C=circumference, and Pi=3.14
Is it easy to measure the diameter of a disk. Put your yardstick through the center of the circle and measure the distance between the outer edges, or if it is not a disk with a level plane, yet is round in one or more planes, place two objects at right angles to the yardstick and the maximum distance the circular object displaces on the yardstick between the right angle peices is the diameter. Just as a caliper would do. This can be done to a ball for example.
The suggested string or rolling the circular object over a measured distance will also work, but if the object is a sphere or a ball, then the caliber method might be easier but all should get you the circumference.
The volume of a sphere or an irregular object is more complex however if the object is small enough it can be immersed in a liquid and just measure the amount of liquid displaced and that will be the objects volume.
Hope I have been helpful and have complemented the other good responses
Good luck
