Thanks Wayne. I had never seen those photo's.

My grandfather was on one of those ships, watching the atomic testing. But they were too close. He died from seven different cancers.

If only they knew then what we know now.............

One of the ships I served on the USS Dixie AD-14 was used at Bikini Atoll. Obviously far enough away to have survived the blast and resultant contamination.
