Products I won't buy because of their adds.

You are not alone!

My husband and I agree with all you listed here but there are a few more that burn us also.

What about the volume for commercials though, doesn't that just irritate you?

The kid shoving his Mother's purse contents and a plant down the toilet to show how good it flushes. Did this company even think that some kid might do this after watching and get his butt beat? Besides what it might cost to fix this mess. Oh yeah, I am gonna buy your product......

How about the kid screaming at his Mom and her ignoring him while she eats some delicious desert. Or the kid getting out of control because Dad deleted her pony show and the Mother telling him to deal with it. How about somebody teaching the child manners and control. No, instead this netflex co or DVD co wants you to buy their product so precious can be a monster. Teach kids more bad habits and that the parents are dense like so many are now days.

Diamonds. I have several. Not fancy or high priced. I agree with the assessment that it insults both the man and woman that if it isn't fancy or expensive enough it doesn't show your love. I'd rather spend the day together doing something we both like. Fishing, taking a drive, walking in the woods.

Medication commercials I think you all have covered it.

We are getting rid of DirectTV this month. We have internet and will use the DVD and are both fine with it. Unless the cable industry ever goes to bundling service so I can pick the channels I want, I won't have it again. I don't need 12 shopping networks, 15 sport channels, Spanish or sex channels, and all the religious channels they have.

The reason it doesn't work for us is because they just want to make money so they program it in the way that it does that for them and to heck with the customer. Maybe if they loose enough customers they will get the point. I am not holding my breath.

Since we left Charter cable two years ago (because they took away another channel I liked and raised the price another $5.75) and we went to DirectTV, Charter has sent us weekly adds wanting us to bundle. I don't want a house phone and I want to know what it will cost me after the 12 month "Special Price". No one can answer that question so we go without this month.

Our favorite button is the MUTE!

My most hated commercial of all time, so far, is Twix. If I have to hear a bunch of people crunch those damn things with their mouths open one more time............Also cereal commercials that do the same thing. AAAARGH!

Hardee's. Their ads show men and scantly clad women eating a 3,000+ calorie hamburger like pigs. Grease, condiments, falling out of the burger all over the place. Clearly I'm not in their target demographic (not that I have anything against scantly clad women!).

I think Hardee's should stick to biscuits but I could eat one of those messy burgers everyday.

well, I'm still waiting for that "Viagra caution...see your doctor" bit to occur, lol.

Everybody missed this one: This may not be an add but it is still frustrating, and a total worthless waste of words. Again the lawyers.

How about your casual phone call to your doctors office because they called you and when the recording begins the first words our of their mouths is, "If this is an emergency please hang up and call 911."

I sure as h*** wouldn't call my doctors office if it was an emergency and I sure wouldn't call 911 if I needed to order a prescription refill. Hey maybe that's just what I'll do.

RING, RING
Operator" This is your 911 operator what is your problem??

"Well my Viagra prescription is about to run out and, You know the time IS right and I always want to be prepared so I really need that prescription filled immediately."

Operator: I dooo understand!!. If I can have your name, address, alternate address, girl friends name or spouses name, next of kin, SS#, bank account #'s, insurance information, medi-care # or Medi-cade # and we will get on that immediately. For an extra fee, also covered by your insurance Our EXPRESS delivery ambulance service will be pulling up to your door before the end of the hour.

Thank you for calling EXPRESS 911 service.

Now that's really the kind of service we need. LOL

How about the tire commercial where they show an old lady throwing it through the front window of the store because she wasn't satisfied with their product. If you returned the tire that way what do you think would happen?

"But Judge, that's the way they show to return it, I was just doing what the commercial showed me." Yeah, that will work.

I'd watch the commercials if they were more entertaining, and if they were presented like they are in Europe. On European TV, the show runs with limited or no interruption, and a block of commercials runs at the END of the show. In order to keep the audience in front of the set, the commercials have to be entertaining, and a lot of times are over the top. Partial nudity is seen on some commercials in the late hours. And of course there are stations that have no commercials at all, because they are owned by the government and you pay a tax to watch them.

Seems to be a lot of agreement here. For me, it's not the product so much as it is the people doing the advertise. We have an Automobile dealer in New York State that has dealerships all across the State, and up into Watertown. The fat guy that owns everything loves to work the word, "Huge," which he drawls out into, "hu-u-u-ga," and irritates the heck out of me. So, I'd certainly buy a new GM, or Ford, but I'd wouldn't buy one from him unless he gave me half off!
V.A. gives me much the same advice for watching the news as the Mayo Clinic did for you, too! Especially now that the election dogs have been unleashed, I'll go from perfectly calm to ballistic the minute one of those lying scums open their mouths.
