He was very much alive. I've tried to send a larger pic to no avail. He's located in front of the large rock just left of center, and right of the smaller flat rock. The bush is a bit in front of him. But he's standing up looking at me. If you look close you can see his right eye which is a black spot. Once you see his eye he's easy to see. I was about 20ft. away when I took the shot.

Off the coast of Alaska coming back from a Glacier cruise. I expected to have a Close Encounter because of the sunlight coming through the clouds.
