I apologise to all users of this forum but as my first post I'm trying to contact a member of this Forum whose past life may have caught up with him
Greetings Harry,
I saw your remarks on MotorhomeFun re, Policeman and the recent news re Police redundancies. I am a tugger (am I allowed to say that!!!) and so I am not a member of that forum so I joined this one (Yorkshireman,
read on) to connect to you.
Your comments re Holbeck Police Station struck a cord.
As you entered the building and sneaked past Tiger Timms Office and said hello to Dick Ellis (or possibly Terry Kane) and went into the Parade Room? after greeting either Gilbert Booth or Harry Claydon the collaters (whatever happened to collaters) only one question remains.
If the 'phone rang and you picked it up, what number did you give?
If I remember rightly, no Policeman in Leeds had a name when he or she answered the phone. It was "Holbeck Police Station XXX (No.) Sir.
The question is. What No. did you give?
I only ask because I can't remember your name. You tell me yours and I'll tell you mine.
PS Your comments re the 'Good Old Days' were bang on.
All I can say is it's a small world.
