Wayne, during your SPOOK days, were you ever stationed in Frankfurt, Germany?

Wow - you owned your own dirt! The landlord wouldn't let us dig in his dirt.

heh heh...our parents wouldn't let us dig in their dirt either... we dug in the city right of way ... the back of our house faced a farmer's field and there was a strip that ran through with saplings and such and the utilities... the fellas in the neighborhood dug out a pit and used plywood on top and threw dirt over the plywood to make it look like a mound... they are fortunate they didn't run into lines... no one thought about anything like that back then! (or it filling up with rain in the spring and caving in with the weight of mud rather than dry dirt on top...)

Heck, even us girls dug dirt forts in Midland, Texas in the late 50’s. We couldn't dig up the yard so we went down the block to a vacant lot. We caught horny toads that we kept in a shoebox lined with grass.
Nowadays there aren't any vacant lots in the neighborhood and horned toads are endangered.

Definitely need an expert in international law. These guys are from the Institut für Molekularbiologie, Medizinische Hochschule, Carl-Neuberg-Strasse 1, D-30625 Hannover, Germany.
Their claim on Rv mutants may not be valid in the US.

Heck. Me and my cousin Jackie dug a big ol' hole all the way to China, right in the yard usin' nothin' but granny's best spoons. That was in Booger County, Texas in the 50's. I'll bet the hole is still there. Ah, mutated memories ... Still makes me happy.

That wasn't China, it was Mexico and yes it's still there and being used by drug mules daily! Thanks Seniorrita, good job.

Hey Steve!,
No we didn't have our own dirt. Usually it was a vacant lot owned by someone else but you had to watch out for the local bullies that would try to overtake your fort if you weren't there. I'll never forget though the time my brothers and the next door neighbor kids were on the way to the fort when we saw a bulldozer crash through the plywood top . I guess we should have used stronger support beams .....
Cheers !!!

Unfortunately Larry, all my tours were in the West Pacific, except one in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We had a contingent in Bremerhaven, GE, but none in Frankfurt that I know of.
