Whyzit Pondering

Whyzit when you carefully locate a seemingly short line at the grocery checkout that someone in front of you has a basket full of problem items requiring the register person to "call for a price check". Huh?

Whyzit the one item you need at the hardware store is out of stock but will be "in next week". Huh?

Whyzit when you arrive at a vacation fishing lake you hear "You should have been here last week, they were biting like crazy". Huh?

Whyzit the one gas pump at the station you pull into has a tiny sign reading "Out of order". Huh?

Whyzit your quick energy trail bar never is in an easy open wrapper. Huh?

Whyzit your toilet stall at the public rest room never has a coat hook. Huh?

Whyzit always rain AFTER you wash your car. Huh?

Definitely a "Guy Thing"!

Somehow it would lose all it's "Flair" if we called it a "Pass Wind Whistle"!

4kids, can you tell which short story writer of long ago that I have tried to emulate?

I'm stumped. Thought maybe Hemingway with the short, direct sentences. But "daintily, faintly, pinkly speckle" sounds more like Steinbeck or even Kipling. Give me a hint?

I used only 3 of his special words. He is not dead. Google is allowed. :-)

In the checkout line, after all is scanned and bagged and the tally stated, the customer searches for their checkbook. For a while.
Then asks for a pen. Then.....

I heard it a little differently. Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow.

And I must be a horse - cause the heat is coming on here in N Tex. Already getting to be too much for me. Sure would like some cooler weather. One day we will follow the weather like you!

Hope you are having a great time and enjoying the peaches!
