After ex husband left me, i thought i was done... I took a bottle of sleeping pills and am only here today because it wasnt my time..... If I had known what a great person i was, i would not have tried..... On the other hand, Larry had a heart attack and 5 bypass before we met, then was in hospital for 21 days with pancreatitis.... We are together for whatever time we have..... And each day is so much better now. We say I am his 3rd wife, in his 3rd life, he is my 2nd husband in my 2nd life, but really he is my only soulmate.......

You are all such good people and friends.... Thank you to each and every one of you. Thank you for sharing your good and bad.... My thoughts and prayers are with each if you. And, I like riding the rainbow with ya'll......

Bad News Time

Hi all,

Just got off the phone with Dunners nurse and from what she tells me I do not have any good news to pass on. Dunner requested he be left alone and he is not on the oxygen machine right now as he refused to medicate. She tells me he is in a trance like state tantamount to a coma. He has not been awake since she got to work at 7:00 am and the last medication Mike had was about 01:00 am today.

Whatever you do for divine provenance and healing 0mhs and such please for Dunner's sake do it now. I would hate to lose a good friend and fellow mutant way too early.

Hang in there Dunner we all love you for you.

On February 7, 1997, I was working on backfilling a structure we had built. I was running a small walk-behind compacter and backing it across the haul road, suddenly a loader was right there and the wheel was pushing me into the compacter handle. I tried to hit the side of the loader, but couldn't reach it as the tire was bigger than my reach. I knew I was going to die, and there was absolutely nothing I could do to prevent it. I was being squished between the 2, unable to get out of there and the wheel was going to run me over. The operator of the loader was backing up the road without looking, and the back up alarm was not working.
The next thing I was aware of, I was lying in the snow on the other side of the compactor with the operator staring down at me. I have no idea how that happened. They got me to hospital and I was checked out, only had bruises, The tire left bruising of the tread pattern on my back, and the handle of the compactor made a hernia in my abdomen. I believe there is no explanation other than my purpose here was not yet fulfilled.
I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences?
When my son was 4 he took ill, it started like a cold, but then he was feverish and had trouble swallowing and was drooling a bit. I had a bad feeling and took him to emergency in the middle of the night. I was standing at the emergency desk getting him registered and trying to explain what was wrong when a man in an overcoat came out through the swinging doors. He glanced at us as he passed us and started through the outer doors, slowed, stopped, turned and came back. He said to me, I am an anesthesiologist, bring your son with me right now. He brought us into an examination room and spoke quietly to my son and got him to use an oxygen mask. Then he called in the resident and said he should carefully look at my son, because this was the classic picture of epiglottitis (an infection)where the epiglottis at the top of the windpipe swells and closes off the airway. He arranged to bring in the surgeon on call and the surgeon got there in time to insert a breathing tube in the operating room before the airway closed completely (otherwise they would have had to do a tracheotomy). My son was then rushed to intensive care at Sick Kids in Toronto by ambulance, where he spent the next week being treated with heavy duty antibiotics and having his airway suctioned. There I heard a lot of horror stories about kids who were misdiagnosed or treated improperly and died from same. Now here is the strange thing. I tried REALLY hard to find out who that doctor was, as I so wanted to thank him. Nobody in emergency or the hospital knew anything about him and did not recognize his description. But if he had not done what he did, basically realizing in a glance what was wrong, and deciding to turn around instead of going home,my son might have had a very different outcome. I sometimes think he was my son's guardian angel, there when most needed, but unknown to others.

At my son's wedding, I said something in my speech about how ill he had been back then but that of course all turned out ok because he was destined to grow up and meet his wife so that we could all be together to celebrate that day.

Wayne - that's why I gave them the account that will be closed when we hit the road. Until I have a toad - we can't go.... And when we go - we won't have that account any more. Don't look now - but that's email address I gave you too!

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.

She was moved to a nice Hospice House this afternoon.

The road ahead will be tough till she reaches the next leg of her journey.

I got the chance to say a lot of what I wanted to during my visit with her.

Anything else can wait till I see her on the other side.

Les, like with Dunner, we all hope your mother has a huge turn around and has a complete recovery. Sending all the healing Ohmms we can muster and wishing we could do more.
