I would guess my grandma first made them in about 1900 in Denmark, and just flour was used.
My Mom made them a bit fluffier, perhaps with baking soda.

I did not tell it right. :(
Grandma used and Nola uses flour, egg, and milk. And I call them Danish dumplings.

But I like any dumpling, if it is GF!

30 YEARS AGO TODAY DEBBIE AND I WERE MARRIED IN THE PARK.
OF COURSE IT WAS FITTING THAT DAVE & DEBBIE DAVIS WERE MARRIED ON "D" DAY!
(We didn't plan it that way, it just happened to be my day off!)
