There are those that are more elaborate and some beautiful woodies, ours being at the far end of elaborate, for a teardrop, but it is still a 6X10 Grasshopper design.
Hello Shadowcatche!

In 75, we graduated to a popup. And thats all it was: a tent that folded out on top of a small tralier, about 275 lbs dry. The Coleman stove and cooler and lantern and all else was on the floor. I coveted the teardrop, with nice hard sides and a roof!

In 87, an Apache popup. It had a sink and a heater! I still coveted the teardrop, with nice hard sides and a roof!

You and I both know what "minimal" is all about! We both dont have what we dont need.

You would be most welcome to be an RV Mutant!

Shadowcatche is RVM8!!

Teardrops are awesome and I've seen some great ones. As for finding the thread humorous - well - what can ya say about a group with a cute monkey for a mascot!

On a personal note, we went straight from tents - to a new 1991 Airstream 19' B Van and recently graduated to the 38 footer with the retirement plan to full time next year. We did our needs assessment and found we didn't need 40/42/45 feet and lots of other things. We did want room to breath and found the opposing slides in the living area were the ticket. We don't have a full wall slide or 4 slides and we don't miss the extra 2 - 7 feet or those other slides. We have the 325 Cummins Turbo and don't miss more HP/torque. We don't have a tag axel and don't miss the extra tires. We got what we need and still have the money in the bank those other things would have eaten - so were those dollars are concerned we don't miss them because we still have them!

Enjoy the journey!

Yep - and I just read another thread where RVM8 has referred to their teardrop as on the far end of elegant. A picture or two would be nice. I'm sure they may be elsewhere but RVMs would like a special preview of our own.

Hey that may be another idea for this thread. Show us your RVM hang out with one or two pics. This might help us recognize one another until the T-shirts mutate.

Nice car Dave....

I gave up my beloved F-350 diesel dually for the JEEP.
Needed a toad. I do miss my truck though.

2013...Mine gets dirty just from goin' to my fishin hole.
I don't do offroad anymore. Least, not like I did when I was 25 with my old CJ5. Heck; it's a miracle I'm even here with the way I used to drive that thing. Did you know you can make them fly?

I really wanted an Apache Popup. But finding a used one is next to impossible.

They are literally disapearing, RVM9.
We really loved it and towed it many 10's of thousands.
Mine went to my SIL. It is a 73. The fiberglass side panels on the bed pushouts crumbled on the edges. But, after 40 years......
