So curiosity got my goat toady (he came back --- inside joke) so I called Bob and Stephane - aka TEFFY... Sure enough they are still camp hosting at Martin Dyes Jr SP about 10 miles from Jasper Tx. Seems he was down by the lake in about the only place with cell service about to call his sister. Otherwise - no net or phone unless the go into town.

They're doing fine and he extends his thanks to Jasper - I mean Tim for putting him in the hosting gig. He really enjoys meeting the people.

So that's all I know about that - other than he says he misses you mutants - and the job r u s out 8/10 and should be home around the 11th. I'm sure there will be stories to tell....

R U an RV Mutant too?

Martin looked up some bacon info from a major English grocery chain:

Sorry about the length. I tried to make a tinyurl ... and obviously failed. What the heck. Go take a peek anyway!

Cheers!

Problem arose when I hit The Big Mother, flipped in the ensuring rapids and tryed to roll up and out of it.

Well let's say practice in a pool vs in a rapid is not the same. After 3 or 4 attempts I figured time to bail as I was under water and bouncing off rocks. AMAZING how much suction two wet trash bags against my body and under a life jacket have. As I finally surfaced a roar went up cause many bystanders were posed ready to jump in. My thought was where were they 5 minutes ago!

I left a canoe there years ago on the Big Piney.... Not sure if it was the Mother, or the Canoe Eating Rocks, but even had a come along, no way did it come along.,.. Heltons farm to Kerry Moore's.... Great stretch for floating..

Yep, I say if I wanted ham I'd ask for it. He says no it's not. It's back, where streaky is belly, and ham is ... what ... haunch or hock or leg? Cured differently? No matter; it's like ham to me.

An Englishman in America yearns for good lean back bacon. It's (ahem) incurable! An American in England, otoh, yearns for some good, fatty, streaky. He says tomah-to and I say tomay-to....

What a cutie! You didn't, perhaps, enjoy the day a little, didja? (Prolly earned that beverage, too. Enjoy!)

When I was 15, did the Kettle River in a canoe with my buddy. We survived, but the canoe was quite trashed. See the videos of the place (not of us) on this link. Hells Gate and Big Spring Falls nearly messed my tighty whiteys!

I used to smuggle a couple of packs back to the US after trips over there (don't tell US Customs!). That was until a drug sniffing dog took an unusual interest in my suitcase at O'Hare - and then moved on.

Well, Martin... you can't help him... he doesn't get many perks in his job... so it must have smelled heavenly to him!
