Anywho I are outta here for the rest of the night. Going to stretch out on my Zero gravity chair and watch the Perseid Meteor Shower that will ensue. Living half way up a mountain and in an area with no street lights the views of this annual August event is beautiful up here.

Anyone else planning to watch over the next three nights?

Late Evenin Muteys!

We just got back from seeing a 9:30 show at Wynns Hotel. Wow what a show it was too. If you pass thru Vegas take the time to see Le Reve at Wynns and you will be glad you did. I have seen just about every big show in Vegas and this one tops them all.

Steve when you go full-time you will find at least half of what you pack in your rv you will not use. If you put a sticker on everything you put in the rv then remove it when you use it. Then after one year go thru everything in the rv looking for stickers you will find a lot of stuff you don't need. It's really funny how we do that.

Got a really nice view of it last night, with a royal blue sky background. This morning it was still high in the sky with the sun coming up across from it. Really quite spectacular.

Moon here but similar story on the Perseids ... mostly overcast. Tonight looks to be the same. :(

Stickers would add too much additional weight. ☺

Annie always packs more than she needs for any kind of trip and I am not exempt when it comes to tagging things for Bonita Bounder. Seems the tendency to be a boy / girl scout and be prepared runs pretty deep.

I can say that having spent much of the last 3 years studying this - and 20 years of having the B Van ready roll at the drop of a hat, I do know there will come a time before we roll outta town to lighten the load. It's all part of the process.

For instance - I have travel books and full timing books and RVing and every other sort of Camping Book that I want to scan (skim / speed read) set aside in two places. Some are on a shelf and the RV books are in a plastic rub. They are about to be next to my easy chair and skimmed and either pages snipped photos taken of key pages, filed for storage, sale or tossed. It is daunting and time consuming and work. But it will be worth it!

Point well taken Dwayne - and pain already being felt..

Hope you two are living large and having a Grande time on the rainbow. We'll be out there with ya shortly. Thanks for the tips!

Annie says HI Shara!

Been through that phase of purchasing every RV related book. Then, reading most only to find they are largely redundant. The "keepers" went with us the first year. Never looked at them. Just dead weight. Neatsy keen travel guides, the same way. I even scanned some (what I thought to be) interesting pages. Never even looked at the scanned files after that. Geesh ... what a waste of time and effort!! Our collection of bike trail books are obsolete so they went to the donation box. We can get every snippet of current info on the Internet, or go to a moderately well funded library while we are on the road.

Cookbooks ... same story. Most of the great recipes, even family heirloom stuff, has been entered into a recipe database program. We refer to that once in a while. Tons of expensive cookbooks went to the donation box.

Summary ... you really really don't need to carry a lot of stuff in the RV that falls under the category of "I might need this someday". Likely you won't. If you do, then go Wal-Mart shopping. My WMT stock could use the booster. I'll even let you park for free in one of my giant lots.

Oh, one more thing, storage rental cubicles ... we have one. Filled with stuff that we should have had the nerve to toss out in the first shuffle. Now it is a curse, as well as a source of "It was your idea, not mine" argument. Someday ... SOMEDAY ... that rented storage cubicle is going to get cleaned out. Either that or you will see our stuff on "Storage Wars".
