They don't like the peppermint or spearamint oil, how ever they just seem to move to another area. In the end we had to go to a feed store and by something that we used to use in our barn at our farm. It worked.......so far no smells but that was always the plus side with the stuff.

'Course isn't there always the rope light trick? I've heard those are now downright nifty!
Best of luck!

Sue we did go with Tomcat, the bricks. Just knew they were having a feast and so now for the repairs.......why is it that mice like electrical wires???

Sue -- Don has been home for a week now and it has been getting a little easier everyday. Today he had an appt with his new pulmonary doc who was the head MD in the ICU while Don was there. It was good to have his input and you could tell the Dr was proud of the fact that Don's still here. Every MD we have seen is calling his survival a bonafide miracle. I call Don our $6 million man. That's about what his care since 1/23 has cost.
I am Don's chauffeur. Arlene is a nervous driver, even before you add Don in his wheelchair. No way she wants to drive his brand new ramp van.
We got into an argument again today about the route I chose. For a man who can barely speak and is difficult to understand, I am amazed at the clarity of his cursing. I look at arguing with him as speech therapy. Not that I would ever antagonize him on purpose.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. I'll pass them along.

Barb I am going to order those and hope it will prevent another round of mice. Thanks!

I know what Sena would call it, "DANGER, DANGER!". She HATES taxidermied animals as it is, but one that is so obviously deformed would send her running.

Sena's native instincts are far more intact than ours are. No jokes of this kind work for her!
For some of us, it's funny, to others sad to make a pastiche of leftover parts like this. But then, the jackalope has been around for donkey's years. Sena runs, some humans giggle, and some buy.
No RVM has come up with an alternate name yet, Dave. Yours must be it, then. Although personally, I'd shorten it some.

I'll keep you in mind, Chuck. It's very kind of you to offer. I believe we'll need 'em all, though, so we won't have to impose on you.
Now if you'd like to come weed the garden while we're away....

Sue,
I would gladly keep your garden weed free ... If you could find a way to ship it to me. Watering and weeding is what I do to regain sanity in the insane situation going on up here.
I finally figured out why I enjoy weeding -- bending over alleviates the pressure on my lumbar spinal stenosis and it's a great sense of accomplishment. I can yank those evil dandelions out before they get big enough to send down a giant tap root. For me, dirt therapy works better than any psychiatrist or wonder drug. And it's free!

Yes they do for sure. Certain kinds of wire covering get chewed first, so I've noticed over the years. The covering on telephone cable (house type) is tasty. When we purchased our bus (it had already been converted once before I redid it), the phone lines running from bedroom to the front were well chewed. Other wires running parallel in the same chase ways were not touched.
Some thermostat wires were nibbled too. That gave me fits because the effected wires where bare would only touch once in a while thus causing the heaters to either come on when not wanted or not operate when needed. Tracing intermittent wire shorting is fun. The final and most reasonable solution was to pull new wires through the conduits and disconnect the old ones.
