Had to pass a meat counter on the way home from the airport, and this was the result.

Later!

I was just looking around on the iRV2 site, and came upon this thread/discussion. I know a few people had questions about particular references made, and why they had their hands slapped. Maybe this will answer some of the questions.....

Larry - Thanks for the reminder. I know that several of we mutants (myself included) have had to be reminded of the rules from time to time... but more importantly - in 22 k + posts - it has not happened here. This tells me at least two things.

1 - mutants have hot buttons like everyone else.

2 - we know and recognize our and others hot buttons and don't bring them into the RVMdom - this thread.

I think among we mutants there is probably more than less clarity and understanding of the rules of forum decorum. Generally speaking when my hand has been slapped it was when something set me off and I tried to walk up to the line of acceptable discourse and misjudged the line... I knew the ice was thin but walked on it anyway...

So the long and short of it for me - we mutants know the Journey is the destination - and sticking close to the original RVM wave - extended hand of friendship - a little monkey business (Hi Sena) - will keep our footing on solid ground.

Healing - Healthy and Happy Ommms to all those in need.

Uh Dennis, the faces on Mt Rushmore face SE, not south. The view you pictured would be best seen from SE Montana. Though I suppose if you have the right telescope that might be your view from western BC.

There's a lot of really interesting things to see and do within 500 miles of Mt Rushmore. I would suggest we schedule the SOGC before the summer travel season so we avoid the crowds and heat. I was there Memorial Day weekend, 2011 and it was nice weather but no crowds.

Ok Steve, I understand the idea of getting everything checked out before you take to the Rainbow on a permanent basis, but it does make you seem a little like a glutton for punishment.

Here's to hoping you have run out of such fun tests. It's painful just to hear about you going thru them.

The best news is that they will pay you ALL the back pay you have missed. I actually got the $ into my acct before I found out I had been approved. I was thinking somebody made a BIG mistake. It was a happy day when I learned I got to keep it. Congrats!

Even better than the monthly checks is the fact that after 24 months on SSI disability you now qualify for MEDICARE!!! For me it was having health insurance again after 2.5 years without. That allowed me to get my new knees and meds I could afford. Good luck deciding which plan to sign up for if you want to add a Medicare advantage plan and Part D drug coverage.

I checked out AOK and it was the last thing on the list - other than dental...

Everything is checked out, and all systems go. So despite my sedate life - not one single doctor has told me anything but - get active - eat better - drop some weight and you will be able to rid yourself of the few maintenance meds you're on. Doing that is another thing - but I am pointing that direction with a positive attitude.

So here is something I have noticed over the years. I still pretty much see the young me in the mirror. I almost recognize the old guy looking back at me in the mirror. I know it not uncommon for thin people with eating disorders to see themselves as overweight. Some heavy people see themselves as thin and shove themselves into short shorts and halter tops...

But the funniest of all are those who have both knees replaced and every tooth in their head worked on at one time - calling others glutton for punishment for routine maintenance.
