My friend Gary is struggling with his cancer battle too. We are leaving tomorrow to go to Canton with him and his wife to just get away for a long weekend and browse the First Monday trades day.

Soooo, we are fine personally but sure is a full plate around us right now. Wish we could make Rockport but that is definitely out this year.

What I like is the convenience more than anything. Plus, it's a built in hamper. Splendide seems to be a good make and is, so far, trouble free. Touching wood!

Waiting for Di to weigh in....

Cheers!

Thought I had..... W/D Growing up, my father owned a dry cleaners, not a laundry, so until I went to college even jeans were drycleaned, just not undies, towels or sheets... I got really used to clean clothes always.... Even when i lived 120 mikes away, i would take my coats etc home to him....
It is a habit with me more than a NEED..... I like doing small loads each day or every 3 days as needed.... I have a SPLENDIDE all in one unit, which uses steam and therefore very little water.... It is very common in Europe.... Have no problems, shake is minor and only for a short time... I use the extremely concentrated detergent from CW, only use a teaspoon... Yes really... Just now bought my second box.... Wrinkles, yes some, and it took some time learning how long to set it for to get minimum wrinkles and max dryness.
But as I did say it was my main request.... I am not a good laundromat sitter, and I HATE piles of dirties.... On first trip out in July, pup got major carsick, was so glad i could just wash.... As there was no laundromat nearby in the Buffalo River National Park...

My rv has tons of storage, and Larry has built more into areas that were voids... Not full time, never intend on it, but i have empty storage...

Our 2 on Splendid, for our travel style it works perfect. Small frequent loads is the trick, less wrinkles, and as the old saying goes, " If this homes a rocking, we must be a washing"
The rocking not really that bad to us. I strongly dislike laundry mats, seen people put some pretty nasty things in those machines.

Interesting call came in last night. Lady back home called wanting to know if I had considered getting into politics!

I know, how deep in trouble has this world sunk! Bet I was on the short list, meaning everyone else had already been scratched off.

After a little stroking on my ego she finally said they needed me to play the part of a crocked politician in a production which I would have done but we're still out of town. I guess it's best, I don't need to be type cast like that! Lol

Di - We're using the Splendide Laundry detergent and a little of it goes a long way too... I know we will eventually use it all but it's like digging a foxhole with a teaspoon... have not tried the CW brand. Wondering if one is better than the other.

My poke / joke last night about the Conestoga Wagon - I have been going through my travel books planning future journeys - and came across some pics of pioneer travel. Also went through a nice book that documents the Lewis and Clark expedition. I have crossed and crisscrossed the trail and some areas are rutt roads and less but would love to document that trail. Maybe in the next life... then I could just beat our clothes on the creek rocks - which would be preferable to a laundrymat...

Sweet... ya know I always wanted too and was convinced I had no talent for it. Am bringing an aluminum easel with me to give you in Rockport any way... you can toss in dumpster or donate perhaps. I was just trying to decide - toss / take or store these two books.. I think Annie tossed my paints already - they were tubes... :-(

R U an RV Mutant too?

Found the obscure and unique again.....in the middle of nuthin!

Just above the Quail Ridge RV Park lies Leonard Clanton, 1866 to 1883.

The obit in the May 4, 1883 Prescott paper reads:
"Leonard Clanton, aged about 17 years, died on Lower Big bug Creek, on the morning of the 4th inst. from injuries received from the kicks and bites of a vicious horse. His death is a heavy blow to his parents, who had, ere this last afflliction, sorrow enough in their family."

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg...&GRid=96678271

Said to be kin of Ike and Billy Clanton of OK Corral fame, I could not find any firm ties in online searches. But somebody loved this boy enough to make his grave a permanent shrine!

12 year old boy, eh? Hmmmm makes you wonder what was going on... 12 year old boys can do some daring stuff like hopping on and deciding even if it isn't a broken in horse yet to try and ride it....

Ahhh have both books... Keep for now.... Until you try it....

Have too many easels as is, and never use... I paint on a drafting table at 30 degree angle.... Sue might want it. Or Marty, she does acrylic.
I have many kinds of wc paints... Tube, and pan....
I will show and explain... Too bad about paint.. If wc they can always be reconstituted, unlike acrylic or oil....... Oh well, can mix any color with just red, blue, and yellow......
