A bit East of Herbster, WI. The Bark River crossed my land and emptied into Bark Bay.

Why we dont boondock anymore!
The original Camp Daven. 1/4 mile down a logging road to the middle of our 40 acres. All equipment, supplies, water etc had to be hauled in on a 3x3 foot push cart. Water from the neighboring farm. Cooking mostly on the fire, but coffee and pizza in the apartment size propane stove. Pit toilet.
Housing: a 1959 Winnebago 16-ft camper, suitable for 4; kids in the cab-over.
A 5-hour drive!
Trout stream 1/4 mile.
Lake Superior, 2 miles.
Pub, 3-miles.
Most weekends and a 3-week vacation every August, ending Labor day.
Absolute peace and freedom!

No, Di tryed to set me up with a great camp but they wouldn't do financing for a week stay then we found Campers Inn which is only $270/week and just across the street like Panama City RV was. Figured we would splurge the savings on eating out!
Sitting at a WM right now. A 2 hour delay due to a fatal accident plus high wind and rain has us a little behind. Thinking of parking for the night, don't like driving after dark anymore!

Thanks Nissa!
It was what we could afford, and grand formative-years for our kids. They learned a lot about improvising and adapting.

Yep. Still trying to finish my semester. I took three exams last weekend, and have to turn a term paper in by tomorrow. However, nothing keeps us from camping! Next week we are in Williamsburg for four days, followed by a few days in the George Washington National Forest, then Halloween at our favorite local campground. Then, sadly, we may have to perform that nasty, sad, winterize thing. They're calling for light frost this week. 😥

Sounds great, Elizabeth!
You cant go camping too much. Sad to need to winterize. I sure dreaded those moments.
Reports and pics if you can, eh?
