I'm not sure where Jeanie pulled this from but I suspect the back of her imagimation... I just added a line.

But I am saddled with the trilogy - Murder at Rope Light Gulch - It Happened at Ropelight Gulch (sequel) and Welcome to Ropelight Gulch (prequel).

‘Yeah?’ I asked. ‘Well how do you explain the smoke signals yesterday and all that hootin’ that went on last night at the Gulch?’

For a moment Jeff looked perplexed. He eased back behind the wheel and laid the binoculars on the floorboard. Suddenly he raised his head as an idea exploded in his brain like a firecracker in an empty tin can. He slammed the transmission in reverse, popped the clutch and shot us backward. Fifty feet back, he yanked the wheel hard left and spun the CJ7 around away from the bank and back toward ridge. I choked dust and braced outstretched arms against the dashboard as the jeep, answering its powerful Chevy 454 engine, shot into and over the top of the steep incline.

‘What the (another expletive), Jeff! What’s goin’ on?’, I shouted over the roar.

Jeff smiled and said …

I forgot my cash and they don't take credit at The Aces High bar in Ropelight Gulch. The Aces as the locals called it had been the place to cut loose in these parts for decades, maybe more. They don't take no lip from anybody and no credit either, but if ya got a thirst for liquor and a hankering for dancing and swearing, well...

Jacks was fast gaining a reputation for red hot pasole, flaming green chile enchiladas, ice cold beer, and rumor had it his recipe for borracho beans was none other than the original Gulch Mining Company Store and Miners Chow Hall concoction. The mixture of epazote and beer was said to leave the gas in the mine and none in the beans.
