I forgot my cash and they don't take credit at The Aces High bar in Ropelight Gulch. The Aces as the locals called it had been the place to cut loose in these parts for decades, maybe more. They don't take no lip from anybody and no credit either, but if ya got a thirst for liquor and a hankering for dancing and swearing, well...

I misread the sign over the door, musta been borracha when I saw it. It really reads: Jacks R Better.

Jacks was fast gaining a reputation for red hot pasole, flaming green chile enchiladas, ice cold beer, and rumor had it his recipe for borracho beans was none other than the original Gulch Mining Company Store and Miners Chow Hall concoction. The mixture of epazote and beer was said to leave the gas in the mine and none in the beans.

Well, found out why all the traffic in Birmingham Saturday night, I thought they all were out to welcome us as we traveled thru! Turns out THE Dalai Lama was in town. Who would of thought
