My parts are arriving today according to the UPS tracking system, I surely hope so, we have had a wonderful 5 day stay in this park, but we were really done with it after 3 days and are itching to move on. I am thankful we decided to give ourselves a full month to get to Arizona, but I sure didnt plan on spending so much time in Wyoming, such is the journey always adapting to the conditions that are out of our control and making the best of it.

The last RV show that I went to had some newer units that came with built in rope lights, needless to say we had no desire what so ever to even give them a second look.

If by chance we ever get a chance to be involved in a curiosity convention of mutants, I will get out the old Coleman and begin the bacon fry in earnest.

Another ponderance could be; how many pounds of bacon could one fry up on a single filling of the tank and how many ounces of drippings would that create?

Hmmmmmmmm........

Cheers !!!
Hey RVM39 if you see a 1990 Contessa with RVM42 in same spot on windshield, wave it's us.

Hey RVM42,

I will sure be on the lookout for ya indeed, are you going to be in the southwest over the winter at all ? . Once we leave the Camp Verde area, (expected time there to the mid November time period) we will be heading to Apache Junction till about February, and then on to Yuma for a bit, before heading back east for the spring and summer, Im just a PM away.

Cheers !!!

Going great so far Steve! Was pondering lately about my illogical survival in this harsh and dangerous world, I mean some of the things I did as a kid...

-Rode a bike without a helmet
-Skateboarded with knee and elbow pads
-Swam in the wetlands marsh
-Swung from a rope on a tree, sometimes even had a tire on it
-Owned a BB gun
-Owned a .22 rifle
-Set off real fireworks
-Hunted in the desert for scorpions, snakes, and big spiders
-Made tunnels in sharp-bladed pampas grass

I did manage to survive however...

Returning home from a extended trip across parts of NM I found the front yard nice and green (sprinkler system) mowed (youngest son's a saint) and a welcoming site. DW said I need to mow the brown weeds in back yard all to the same height! I pondered on this a while, then decided I'd just grow a nice New Mexico lawn in back, complete with plenty of brown bushes, weeds and lots of rocks. Pondering a few broke down vehicles to add a real NM touch, rusty brown of course. My apologies to anyone I've offended, just an observation.

^^ put the TT in the back yard with tires on top to complete the look.

I lived in New Mexico and after a while you don't notice any of that. You fish - enjoy the weather - the great food and the people and culture. It's a tough place to make a good living, but sure is nice to journey about the state. Mountains, streams, caves and green and red chile that I'm still addicted to.

Hmmm .... that would fall under the classification of "transportation themed yard decor". When arranged properly the display could depict the evolution of motor vehicles from the early models (large trees growing up through them) to the more modern examples (with hound dog sleeping on the roof).

What you said, about the NM lawn in back, plus Moonrover's themed additions -- a painter's paradise! Especially the truck w/ tree growing up through it. Rust is surprisingly appealing in a painting, considering. Yup, definitely a place for painters.

Cheers!

Sounds like a waist of good bacon and a good apple. Thinking back, most pig roast I've been to they always placed a apple in the pigs mouth! We had 3 cousins that always cooked a whole hog for a family reunion. I ask them why they put the apple in the pigs mouth and the best answer was "that's how their Dad had done it before he passed away" Just one more thing to ponder!

My feeling exactly! A friend sent me a photo via facebook, so I don't think I can copy it for all y'all's viewing pleasure.

It looked as though the candied apple had been rolled in a pan of crispy fried bacon. It looked just like a ball of bacon on a stick.

Wonder how many were sold, and how many tasters went back for seconds? That's my ponder for now.
